Mare
Boarding Services
Granada Farms provides safe, quality, on premises care
to all mares being bred at our facility. Mares will
be housed in one of our four mare motels, each containing
40 14' by 20' private stalls. Each stall is roomy,
airy and equipped with an automatic waterer. Private
paddocks are also available upon request. These paddocks
are 100' by 100' and are fenced with 6' high vmesh wire.
Our
spacious Coastal Bermuda grass pastures are extremely
well maintained, and are fertilized to keep the grass
thick and green. Mares kept in the pastures are fed
individually, instead of using common feed troughs.
All mares regardless of where they are housed, are fed
twice daily. We feed custom pelleted ration mixed locally
and specifically designed for us by renowned equine
nutritionist, Gary Potter, Ph.D.. The mares are also
fed high quality coastal and alfalfa hay twice daily.
Sale
Preparation Services
Granada Farms prepares approximately 100 horses for
sale each year. From yearlings to broodmares and horses
of racing age. Our sale consignments consistently rank
among the top sellers at all major sales.
With
the increasing numbers of horses sold annually at major
sales thoughout the country, it is more important than
ever to have sale horses professionally prepared. It
is not our goal to be the largest, in terms of numbers
of horses prepared for sale. Our goal is to make sure
each sale consignment is presented in such a way that
maximizes the return for its owner.
