VERY IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ
Due to the recent EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis) outbreak resulting in the quarantine of several farms, we find it necessary to establish new guidelines for horses entering our farm. These precautions will help protect your horses as well as ours. All Granada Farms stallions were tested negative and vaccinated for EVA in October.
2008 Guidelines
If you are a stallion owner planning to ship semen or haul in a stallion to Granada Farms, we MUST have verification that your stallion has been Tested negative and vaccinated for EVA (Equine Viral Arteritis) at least 30 days prior to arriving at Granada Farms. We will not be accepting any shipped cool semen from a stallion that has not been tested and vaccinated against the virus.
All mares entering Granada Farms must have the following:1). Negative coggins within the past 12 months
2). Vaccination records showing imunization within the past 12 months Against the following:
A). Eastern, Western Encephalitis
B). West Nile Virus
3). Vaccination records showing within past 3 months against the following:
A). Equine Influenza
B). Equine Herpes Virus/Equinerhinopneumonitis
All mares residing at Granada Farms will be Dewormed every 90 days and Vaccinated against Equine Influenza and Equine Rhinopneumonitis.
We are aware this may cause some additional expense for owners but remember It is FOR YOUR PROTECTION AS WELL AS OURS. If you have any questions regarding these guidelines please feel free to give us a call. We will try to help any way can.
